Journey to the Interior: Sugar Metamorphics

I have been attending artist and filmmaker Tereza Stehlikova's Sensory workshops, and recently contributed an experiemntal session of sugar metamorphics - a sensory exploration of the many forms that sugar takes, and  it’s transformative properties upon history, culture, our bodies and our future.

I'll be doing some sugar work as part of her performance event Journey to the Interior,  a multi-sensory, participatory performance and  feast, inspired by George Bellas Greenough, a geologist and a founder of the Geological Society London, as well as Jules Verne's story the Journey to the Centre of the Earth. The performance happens in the context of Open Senses Weekend, a London wide festival dedicated to the senses, as well as Wormwood project, a 100 day residency at Dissenters Gallery, in collaboration with poet Steven J Fowler.

Where: Dissenters Chapel, Kensal Green Cemetery
When: 21st May, 2017
