Our studio group Manifold introduced ourselves to Siobhan Davies Studio by curating and presenting Under the Influence, in July 2013.
Unfold was the conclusion of Manifold’s three-month journey within the space, an exhibition of new works inspired by our experiences in the studios. Our work responded to the activities of the people who bring the Studio to life, and the architecture of the building.
Our approach embraced Siobhan Davies Dance’s ethos of working with artists, the experience was a two-way exchange of knowledge, a mutually beneficial relationship that is responsive and not prescriptive. We used the opportunity to examine our own practice deeply and consider how it fits into the wider context of the applied arts.
